Most of my story continues to surprise me: I’ve got a real-live conversion story, I’m a pastor, my wife and teenaged boys are a hoot, and I live a very interesting life in a Kentucky river town. The forties arrived far too soon for my liking, but the view is getting better all the time. A Chicago-area childhood is a long time ago, almost a few lifetimes ago, but I still tune into Chicago radio at night. The Cubs never leave my consciousness.
I hope that this blog is a place to find traction for faith in Christ. My story was unique, I think, but it was not unique in its slip-and-slide movement from outside-to-in. I have a respect for the struggle with faith and know that some objections are honest ones. Still, faith in God is plausible for the skeptic and probable for the seeker. The blog is Christian, I believe, but necessarily neutral in some language to allow a point of entry for folks just getting started. Forgive me for the stupid stuff.
